GIS and SCADA integration project

Panhandle had a need to monitor their pipeline assets & infrastructure, including all the pressure stations, valves, etc. They assembled a project team tasked to building a real time web-based solution that integrated Panhandle's SCADA system. This solution needed to be usable by a casual user and the gas control community. Esri's ArcGIS Server technology was leveraged to build a Silverlight solution that was compatible in both environments (casual user & gas control). This application integrated real time information from SCADA and GIS systems, as well as real time schematic views of the pipe network. An administration tool was created to help administrator the RTDCs (real time data containers) used to monitor the SCADA data. The final product was a scalable framework to meet current and future regulations and requirements of Panhandle Eastern Pipeline, LP.
