City of Novi, MI GIS In The Cloud

The City of Novi, MI developed an ArcGIS Server 10, Amazon Cloud hosted application. This Internet Mapping portal provides a wealth of geospatial information to its residential and business community, supporting public service delivery 24/7. The City migrated its current ArcIMS environment to esri's ArcGIS Server 10 platform using the ArcGIS API for Microsoft SilverlightT version 2.0. The Amazon EC2 Cloud hosted, secure environment provides the City with the flexibility to portray 50 map layers representing 10 content themes of interrelated information. It provides the public on-demand access to timely, relevant, and accurate information ranging from community and economic development, recreation opportunities, land ownership interests, ordinances, voting precincts, and public safety incidents.

Resources like the City's Internet Mapping Portal reflect the type of investments it is making to ensure a vibrant business climate exists for promoting the growth of existing businesses as well as attracting new investment within the community.
