Abstract

Educating Non-tech Educators and Volunteers About GIS
Track: Education
Authors: Frank Wideman

It is a challenge to provide the right level of information and technology to 4-H educators and volunteers so that they may communicate effectively with the GIS professionals that are providing the GIS knowledge base for the community mapping projects.

In an introduction to GIS, one must provide enough information to get some of the terminology and potential uses for GIS understood by those that are working everyday with the youth audience, so that they may communicate with the GIS professionals.
