The Strategic Geospatial Coordination Committee (SGCC) was formed in 2008 to serve the San Antonio greater area in Texas. Since then, through effective collaboration, the purpose of the SGCC has been to providing direction in facilitation or addressing geospatial services and projects, coordinating technical standrads, and administering fiscal resources.
Other consorciums around the country have provided interesting structures, some that apply and some that do not into our regional structure.
The SGCC primary goals and objectives are to serve as the primary forum in policies (guidance and development), data (management, aggregation, etc.), services (opportunities and implementation), projects (collaboration and coordination), support (of technical, educational, and business nature), and fiscal (manage funds and reducing replication of efforts).
