ArcGIS API for Silverlight for Asset & Work Management System

Every week, the City of LA processes hundreds of temporary no parking sign requests. Over half of these requests are made by Film LA . The remaining requests are made by the public, and other city departments. Under LADOT's previous system, all requests were made via phone or fax and there was no spatial representation of the database, making it a difficult to manage the requests efficiently.

The new system uses the ArcGIS API for Silverlight and features a public-facing web page for entering the temporary sign request via a known address or by selecting the location on a map. The clerks can now see the requests on a map for approval. Once the requests have been approved, a supervisor can geographically assign the work orders to crews. The next phase of the project will feature an ArcGIS Mobile component. This component will make this system paperless.
