The City of Akron is implementing a Capacity Management, Operations and Maintenance (CMOM) program, using GIS a central integrating technology to synthesize wastewater collection system asset-related information housed in disparate information systems. Having established a synchronized asset inventory between ArcSDE and the City's maintenance management system in 2007, the City is now tackling the primary challenge of aggregating information about asset maintenance activities from multiple disconnected business processes and supporting data repositories. This presentation will discuss the implementation of the City's data management strategy to integrate these business processes and related data to support improved management of the collection system, and to facilitate tracking and regulatory reporting of CMOM activities. This presentation will also examine how the City has implemented ArcGIS Server-based web GIS applications, incorporating information from the work management system and inspection tracking system to provide all staff with a common operational picture of CMOM activities.
