Leveraging GIS for Effective Access Management

In this presentation, we are going to talk about how DC Water uses GIS information to achieve more effective asset management. Leveraging ESRI GIS technology, we built an analytic driven asset management system that can help from three aspects: 1. Predictive maintenance to enable 'fix before break,' 2. spatial schedule optimization enabling 'while in the neighborhood scheduling,' 3. usage analysis enabling advanced customer segmentation report and detection of usage anomaly. We will show how GIS makes difference in DC Water's asset management, and what are the benefits they have so far. We are also going to talk about the lessons and experiences from our work. We will conclude with some future work that leveraging more advanced ESRI geo-spatial analysis features, network analysis features and others for better analytic for asset management.
