Regional Management - Maintaining Performance with Declining Resources

The Marine Corps GIS Program (GEOFidelis) has implemented regional geospatial technology centers in an effort to better serve the organization as a whole. Established, fully-funded, and charged with providing comprehensive geospatial and technology support to the Marine Corps Installations, the regional centers have recently experienced a significant decrease in available funding from the Headquarters level along with a directive to provide a reduced set of services. However, the Installations have become reliant on the breadth of services and desire to expand, not reduce, the use of GIS in their daily business processes. In order to meet the growing demand while experiencing declining resources the regional centers have implemented new technologies and adopted a few new strategies - with varying results.
