Integrating GIS Technology into Rio Tinto Kennecott's Land Management.
Track: Mining and Geosciences
Authors: Steve Cater

Rio Tinto Kennecott Utah Copper is one of the largest copper mines in the world. The mine owns approximately 94,000 acres and is located within miles of a large urban population. During the past few years Kennecott has been implementing GIS technology to help manage land assets and provide up to date information related to operations and surrounding areas. To accomplish this, Enterprise SDE databases, Image Server, Workflow Manager, web clients and ArcMap clients are used to interface and view data related to this complex land management scenario.
