Abstract

ArcGIS for Emergency Management: 2011 National Level Exercise (NLE 2011)
Track: Disaster Management and Emergency Response
Authors: Ryan Lanclos

The 2011 National Level Exercise (NLE 2011) was designed to exercise nationwide response to a major earthquake along the New Madrid Seismic Zone located in the Central United States. Learn how ArcGIS was deployed as a common operating platform that allowed each participant to apply the geographic approach to the NLE: creating and managing data, performing spatial analysis to convert data into actionable information, and disseminating that information to the right people at the right time. This session will highlight the use of ArcGIS for Emergency Management and cover lessons learned during the exercise.
