Abstract
GeoGuard 2012: Progress Across the Strategic Pillars
Track: Defense and Intelligence
Authors: Brian Cullis
This presentation will summarize the maturation of the GeoGuard capability for the National Guard across the four strategic pillars of requirements, community, technology and sustainment since its inception in 2010. Mobilizing and organizing a new, standards-based and shared geospatial information and services capability across 54 states and territories, the Army and Air National Guard teams, and the National Guard Bureau Joint Staff has required significant innovation to avoid the many obstacles that had previously stymied enterprise GIS efforts in the National Guard. This paper will be of interest to not only the National Guard and Department of Defense sectors, but any organization that is seeking to design, implement and institutionalize a spatial enterprise mindset and culture in their organization.
