The Global Agricultural Food Security Program (GAFSP) Coordination Unit in partnership with the World Bank Institute (WBI) Innovation Team is developing a global interactive mapping platform providing an overview of all GAFSP financed projects. This is being complemented by specific country-level and project-level interactive mapping platforms for each GAFSP financed program that will combine local project data with local socio-economic data and relevant food security data. This paper will provide an introduction to the GAFSP and provide a demonstration and first insight into the interactive mapping platform for country-level (Ethiopia, Nepal, Cambodia) and project-level GAFSP financed programs. This will be followed by a wider discussion on the role of such initiatives to better monitor project and impact on people; to enhance transparency and social accountability; and to enable citizens and other stakeholders to provide direct feedback.
