Japanese society has changed greatly over the earthquake that occurred on March 11th, 2011. The Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear power station of Tokyo Electric Power Co. in Fukushima was especially devastated by the Tsunami. Measurements were taken by Japanese government by evacuating 20km radius around the plant. Yet, the issues have not been still solved after more than a year.
Using a radio controlled helicopter, we can take high resolution aerial photos of risk areas without physically visiting, and confirm which regions are more affected by the higher level of radioactivity. Thus, high resolution aerial photos play an active role in urban development and earthquake reconstruction, enabling us to manage radioactive contamination.
