The Indio Water Authority (IWA) serves the City of Indio, CA, totaling approximately 80,000 residents. The IWA has monitored water system performance using traditional methods of SCADA, field testing, flushing, customer reporting, and other.
To further its mission to maintain excellent customer service in an effective and fiscally responsible manner, the IWA is enhancing these traditional systems with a service oriented solution to map IWA's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) using cloud GIS. The solution implemented mapping of performance deficiencies by applying IWA's existing water network geodatabase and elements of its asset management systems, with CIP projects displayed from IWA's recently completed Master Plan. The benefits of using Geodatabase as central Asset Repository (AR), cloud GIS as a platform for hosting and sharing proposed projects, and intelligent mapping for visualizing color-coded and summarized water system performance will be discussed.
