Recently FEMA Region VIII partnered with the State of Utah to coordinate a state level earthquake exercise called "Utah ShakeOut 2012 which included 940,000 participants(http://www.shakeout.org/utah/). FEMA Region 8 staff conducted a detailed risk assessment using FEMA's Hazus earthquake model to estimate social, economic, and infrastructure impacts to 21 different fault scenarios in the State of Utah. These risk assessment scenarios can be used to prioritize response and recovery activities, commodities, and sheltering in a real event, and were also incorporated in the Wasatch Fault Catastrophic Earthquake Plan. The scenarios can be viewed online at http://www.shakeout.org/utah/scenarios/.
