FitnessGram Results and Proximity to Retail Food Establishments

A small-area analysis was undertaken to identify whether a relationship exists between child fitness and exposure to healthy and unhealthy foods. Through the use of authoritative data sources, and GIS methodologies certain relationships were identified. The methodology developed has utility for other small-scale area analysis and may be useful in assessing correlation between these two vital public health phenomenon.
