3D geological surface generation is always challenging as traditional surface interpolation methods do not consider overlying geological surfaces. To overcome these challenges, a set of Python tools were developed.
The first tool makes a set of surfaces by batch interpolation using "Topo To Raster tool with a range of data types (bore data, contours, and, later, a variety of user-defined 'control points').
The following two tools make a regular set of control points, extracts elevation data from the surfaces and then cross-checks these stacked surface elevations, allowing adjustment following application of user-defined rules.
Other tools batch the creation of 2D cross-sections and plots topography and bore data from a database. This script creates slices of all geological surfaces, and allows the user to define new surface lines, allowing to the creation of a new set of control points along the section line for the purpose of adding to the interpolation.
