Track: Homeland and National Security

On March 11, 2011, an earthquake and a tsunami mainly (14 m wave) hit the site of Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power in Japan. The loss of power no longer allowing the cooling of reactors has led to radioactive releases into the atmosphere and the ocean.
The presentation will show how the use of ArcGIS and its coupling with our computer codes to help assess the severity of the accident and its consequences for the terrestrial environment and its neighboring inhabitants (April 2011 studies).
