Social media effect on GIS represents a significant disruptive development influencing the security environment domestically and internationally.
GIS can be used with social media to deliver operational effects and situational awareness. This presentation explores the disruptive potential of social media on GIS in defence and security.
Problems solved: identifying priorities and approaches to operating in a rapidly evolving environment using GIS and social media.
Findings and results: Cover a wide range of issues from geolocation, geotagging, security, intelligence, misinformation, geo-security and threats and opportunities.
This project/presentation is of use to the audience as this is a significant issue of high importance effecting cyberwarfare, intelligence, leadership and operations through the use of GIS with social media.
