The United States Department of the Navy is on the forefront of measuring and efficiently managing facility energy consumption. Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) dedication to facility infrastructure management in execution of the Navy Shore Energy program has generated the need for geospatial technology for program measurement and verification. How has CNIC employed the power of geospatial technology as the central reporting receptacle to meet consumption reduction goals? See how current methodologies in GIS make it possible for the Navy to leverage existing business line applications to develop a robust and powerful Navy Shore Geospatial Energy module (NSGEM).
