Track: Desktop Developer
Authors: Michael Healander
The City of Southfield is saying goodbye to Esri's MapObjects and hello to ArcGIS Runtime. The City of Southfield owned as many as 175 licenses of MapObject's and has recently been migrating these apps to ArcGIS Engine or to the web.
The City of Southfield is now adopting ArcGIS Runtime into its migration plan. The City has already moved its existing 911 dispatch support application built in 2003 using MapObjects to ArcGIS Runtime 10.1 Beta. The City has found it simple to put mapping and geospatial analytics into the hands of its existing employee's without requiring that they be GIS experts.
The key benefits the City is experiencing includes;
• Small Footprint
• Very Fast Display
• Easy to Deploy
• Native 64 and 32 bit
• Connected and Disconnected
• Works with Geodatabases and ArcGIS web services
• Multi-platform support
This presentation will focus on experience with ArcGIS Runtime.
