The Gulf of Mexico Alliance (GOMA) is a partnership of Gulf of Mexico states intent on increasing regional collaboration to enhance the ecological and economic health of the Gulf of Mexico. Working with the Ecosystem Integration and Assessment Priority Issue Team, the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies (HRI) has developed a variety of web-based applications and resources to further GOMA efforts in data discovery, access, and collaboration. GOMAportal.org was developed by HRI using Esri's open source Geoportal Server and allows users to search, visualize, and download Gulf of Mexico geospatial datasets using metadata harvested and upgraded by GOMA state partners. The Geospatial Data Acquisition Planning Tool is a platform for collaboration that allows stakeholders to share and search information about data collection activities. HRI provides a framework for remote collaboration between GOMA members using ArcGIS Server map services, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Explorer Online.
