The Natural protected areas and the Mining Sector in Sonora.

Sonora is known as the State mineral of Mexico, has a surface of 179,704 kmē, this produces mainly: gold, silver, lead, zinc, copper and molybdenum. There are currently 4,732 mining, whose surface is 40,727 km kmē and 3,140 mines, while the surface of the P
NPA is 12, 289 kmē. So it became a current spatial assessment of the development of mining and the natural protected areas in the State of Sonora. Methodology: Was the integration of digital maps data from INEGI, SGM, CONANP and CEDES the NPA vs mining, and became the overlap of the maps with Arc Gis 10. Results: Mining does not show a significant impact in the deteriorated ecosystems, as evidenced by the companies committed to improving the environment. This committed them to join the economic, ecological and social development of the State of Sonora.
