Track: Computer-Aided Dispatch and 911

In July 2009 the NASJAX Addressing Initiative workgroup was established to champion the task of building the GIS 911 data backbone that would power a regional dispatching center for the US Navy's Southeastern Region. The main focus was to build a methodology for utilizing local 911 GIS data to fit a regional model for sharing GIS data in accordance with proposed FGDC data sharing standards. The task is an effort of community outreach across several levels of government with an overall goal of data transparency for the common goal of emergency response in mutual aid situations. The focus of this discussion is to outline the methodology for building a single, functional 911 GIS dataset from multiple local sources and describe the task of data stewardship and maintenance across multiple local jurisdictions.
