Using various types of kriging methods applied to analysis of radiological contaminants in soils is useful in establishing monitoring locations on a large site. This methodology has become more robust when kriging outputs are coupled with network densification tools in order to optimize location selection. This presentation shows comparisons of various combinations of kriging and network optimization applied to the monitoring of radioactive soil contaminants at the USDOE Idaho National Laboratory site.
