Track: State and Local Government
Authors: Nicholas O'Day, Issac Standard, Christopher Whatley
The Fulton GIS Collaboration Group was founded by Issac Standard (Fulton County, GA GIS) and Nicholas O'Day (City of Johns Creek, GA GIS) to provide the mechanism of collaborative data and knowledge exchange between and among all participating cities/agencies and Fulton County. This voluntary group meets to share experiences, collaborate on data models, develop automated ways to share data and to work toward common objectives. Through the Group, members leverage each other's strengths, reduce redundant data capture/ editing, and help improve regional datasets and applications while contributing to a more cohesive GIS vision for the region. Fulton County, Georgia is the seat of the state capital and is the most populous county in the state. The County is home to 14 cities, is adjacent to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport and contains the Atlanta Public Schools and Fulton County School Systems with nearly all of these entities participating in the Group.
