Abstract
Developing Utah AGRC's Cached Base Map Services
Track: Cartography and Map Production
Authors: Zach Beck
The Utah Automated Geographic Reference Center (AGRC) maintains and provides access to over 400 layers in the State Geographic Information Database and 900 GB of imagery. In an effort to make this data more accessible to GIS users, application developers, and the general public, the AGRC has developed 7 cached thematic base map services. This presentation will introduce the base maps and their intended purpose, discuss how the mxd's are structured, and strategies used for updating and maintaining the services. Information regarding the base maps can be found at http://gis.utah.gov/developers/base-maps
