Application of Stationary Terrestrial Scanning LIDAR in ArcGIS 10.X
Track: Lidar and 3D Mapping

URS as a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) System's consultant has been utilizing Stationary Terrestrial Scanning for various types of Civil & Transportation Projects.
The objective is to develop Survey Management System that serves the GIS & Engineering community using a central Data model.
URS is developing a customized work flow in which with Implementation of ArcGIS10 and expanded functionality in which it support LIDAR data Classes(Stationary, Mobile & Airborne) this can be accomplished. Rich geodatabases represent the central data model for such systems which support both GIS/CADD platforms. These rich geodatabases can provide rich point cloud, 3D feature classes & TIN to (ArcMap & ArcScene) Platforms and at the same time available to CADD platforms which be able to provide 3D Digital Terrain Model(DTM) Topography for the engineering staff in (Microstation/InRoads) & (Autodesk Civil3D) environments with +/- 5to7 mm accuracy.
