Authors: Robert Wieder, Malte Rabels
aurelis holds a comprehensive portfolio of land formerly belonging to the German Railway, distributed over 1055 properties with a total of 19 million square meters. The company is located throughout Germany with large inner city plots. About 70% of these properties are in metropolis regions such as Hamburg, Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.
aurelis has high demand for daily cadastral, financial and urban planning information to manage their properties. Their GIS for real estate management (IBB GIS) is used as a central information hub to organize all this complex information. In the beginning ArcMap functions were used to greatly enhance data quality of old German Railway data. Internal Data is now stored in a central database and combined with online services (BING, various WMS from Bayerische Vermessungsverwaltung).
In addition a companywide web information system, based on ArcGIS Server, gives access to owner information, documents stored in SharePoint and to SAP LUM.
