Abstract
MCSF-BI GIS Integration Project - "Getting to the Deliverable
Track: Defense and Intelligence
Authors: Carlyn Hiller
The Marine Corps Supply Facility Blount Island (MCSF-BI) GIS Integration project, in conjunction with CH2M Hill/Clark-Nexus Joint Venture (JV), is a multi-task "umbrella project that focuses on the integration of GIS deliverables into the MCSF-BI's SDSFIE-compliant GIS database. Deliverables from this project include but are not limited to the following:
Ammo Loading Analysis
Utility Inventory (Communications, Electrical, & Storm Water)
Soil/Geotechnical Report Integration
Slipway Dredging Analysis
2 Aerial Photo Acquisition
Each task presented unique challenges, and each were overcome by working together with the Project's Surveyors, Underground Locate Specialists, Subject Matter Experts, and the GIS teams from MCSF-BI & JV. The focus of this presentation will be to show the GIS strategies used to increase the efficiency of MCSF-BI's GIS Program and give them the ability to utilize the tools needed to effectively manage the installation through the use of GIS.
