The absence of hydrometric stations to measure the runoff of the wadis is a serious problem in Saudi Arabia. This absence causes lack of the hydrologic characteristics of drainage systems and surface water basins. Hence, the main objective is using SCS Dimensionless Unit Hydrograph model and Rational Method to estimates the maximum of daily flood's flow in the basin tributaries feeding of Aqiq Wadi (5130.8km2)
ArcGIS was used widely to analyze and model spatially the available metrological data during the period from 1971 to 2006. Additionally ArcHydro was applied to map and determine the characteristic of topographic variables, and the morphometric analysis of the basin based on DEM. As result, the Aqiq basin was classified into 55 sub-basin of flood risk. This classification depends on the importance of the maximum daily flow volumes resulting from flood flow during periods of potential flooding back period from two years to 100 years.
