The Knowledge Display and Aggregation System (KDAS) is the real-time situational awareness/common operating picture tool installed in the ACTIC to promote accurate situational awareness and informed decision making. KDAS processes information and displays on desktop.
Information is interactive; tracking, manages critical infrastructure, incidents, and resources associated with response, mitigation and recovery activities. This GIS application has been used by ACTIC during local events for pre-event planning to formulate mitigation, preparedness, recovery priorities. It assesses resources in the event of a loss/degradation through identification and prioritization of critical infrastructures, interdependencies, and facilitates critical decision making.
With this network centric system, ACTIC can now allow multiple organizations to work within the same geospatial framework for planning and developing course of action. The system also is implemented on mobile devices to support both the push and pull of information from officers in the field.
