Abstract
Regional Geodata Integration for HLS Applications on the Colorado FrontRange
Track: Homeland and National Security
Authors: Paul Tessar, Scott Kellar
Since 2006, the Colorado Homeland Security North Central Region has been developing a GIS data repository to house locally-produced and -maintained datasets for sharing amongst the 10 county members. This facility currently houses 20+ layers. Plans to double the number of available layers will be outlined. Enhancements to improve data interoperability and functionality across borders and amongst the contributors will also be discussed.
In addition to the original member-data-producers, access to this facility has been broadened to include Homeland Security Planning Partners, including Municipalities, and other regional/local partners as appropriate. The presentation will review the new access policy, data use agreement and application process. Status of the new members and contributions they are making to the overall effort will be reviewed. While there is no strict quid pro quo, there is an expectation that any new members will contribute towards the collaboration to enhance the facility and its content.
