Using high-quality research, such as the Federal Reserve's Survey of Consumer Finances, the financial services usage of a geographically-defined community can be estimated at a detailed level for specific financial services products. By applying the same approach to health services research, a model that estimates the demand for heathcare and public health services can similarly be developed. This exploratory project describes the development of such a healthcare demand model and the relationship between the demand for heathcare services and financial services, as well as the relationship between the demand between healthcare services and Tapestry segmentation, as well as their spatial distributions.
