The SIMS (Systems Integration Modeling and Simulation) Directorate of the Training Brain Operations Center (TBOC) is one of a few custom content generators of military games for training community serving under the Army's TRADOC (Training and Doctrine Command). Utilizing enterprise software licenses contracted by the ARMY, our team is able to create geo-specific environments using data from various sources. GIS vector data, elevation rasters, satellite imagery create the 3D environments, much like ArcGIS Explorer. The main user-base for an installation to be created is for home station training. Virtually training the war fighter before the live training takes place. Beyond that, possibilities for using the environments can extend to the GIS communities at the installation. The goal of this presentation is to increase awareness to the attendee about these programs by demonstrating the various phases of 3d environment creation using GIS data
