Abstract
Changes in Brazilian Semi-arid: analysis supported by GIS technologies
Track: Climate Change
Authors: Iana Rufino, Kevin Mulligan
This paper describes some studies of climate changes and their impacts in the land use in the Brazilian semiarid region. The GIS is used like a integration tool of lots of data from Remote Sensing, geographic and statistics institutions, climate researches and monitoring data. Through a spatial and temporal analysis, it is intended to generate important climatic and hydro-logical input parameters for watersheds studies, trying to establish a correlation between land use changes and climate changes.
