Track: Urban and Regional Planning

ArRiyadh Development Authority (ADA) came up with the idea of building ArRiyadh Geospatial Infrastructure (AGI) for the ArRiyadh city involving major public and private organizations to overcome the problems of data sharing, inter-agency coordination and to maintain the quality of geospatial data and services. ADA's vision about the AGI is to provide a data exchange service for catalogued layers of different types of geospatial data through which the participating organizations will be able to access these layers and manage their own layers within a secured environment.
AGI contributes to support research methodologies and techniques and planning studies. AGI also saves planners' and researchers' time and effort in collecting vital and miscellaneous information about the city. AGI effectively participates in taking advantage of the various different fields of urban strategic planning such as urban planning, environmental planning, infrastructure planning, transportation planning, urban planning management and urban design.
