Track: Mobile GIS

A common problem cities and counties have to overcome is the determination of jurisdiction when customer service requests have been submitted by citizens and residents. Citizen's don't know whose jurisdiction their issue should be assigned, also workflows differ between cities and counties. Different agencies use different work order management systems and require different types of, a problem when the citizen is trying to report an issue to the correct stakeholder. Fulton County, Ga is using GIS and smartphones to route issue reports across multiple jurisdictions, using CitySourced and ArcGis. Using the GPS from the user's smartphone and performing real-time geospatial analysis, CitySourced creates customized service request forms on the fly. These dynamic forms merge both city, county, and even state service request types so each location in the county can have unique and accurate service request forms. Intelligent routing also removes the time spent forwarding service requests back and forth.
