The Indio Water Authority (IWA) serves the City of Indio, CA. The IWA includes 21 wells and 6 booster stations, supplying three pressure zones, without gravity storage for most of the system, resulting in hydraulically sensitive operations and frequent energy usage. IWA seeks to manage energy by disseminating SCADA information and deploying advanced analytics to improve operational transparency, while predicting and proactively optimizing operational scenarios.
IWA is implementing a GIS-based, AGOL-enhanced SCADA analytics platform using service oriented GIS and network hydraulics. The solution aggregates IWA's SCADA data to present real-time alerts to IWA staff. The benefits of integrating SCADA data and hydraulics with GIS map services for operational efficiencies, proactive decision making, and aggregating accurate data points for hydraulic model validation will be discussed. A web, analytics driven platform will allow the IWA to benefit from the secure integration of SCADA data within a familiar mapping and collaboration environment.
