For the developing countries which are blessed with forest resources, understanding the accurate status of forest and developing effective forestry policy using that information is essential for their economy and environment. For this purpose, there is a great need to integrate and share all kind of forest related data in those countries. To achieve this goal, it is essential to first create reliable database of the forest data, and for this purpose, we selected geodatabase. Next, we need to effectively share those data, and we planned to use the technology of ArcGIS Server to develop clearinghouse and web based gis. Lastly, there is a need to process raw data and create more sophisticated data for the decision makers, and we decided to use godatabase and sqlserver technology to create the report for the decision makers. We would like to show why we selected those technologies to achieve these goals.
