The Planning Division of West Virginia Department of Transportation is making numerous changes to its data collection, maintenance, and dissemination approach. One fundamental component to its new approach is the adoption of Esri's Roads and Highways (R&H) product to manage the location and business attributes of the collected transportation data. Several tools are being upgraded to integrate with R&H including a straight line diagramming (SLD) and videolog solution. As changes are made to the underlying road network and associated business data, the modified information is immediately reflected in the SLD application.
This presentation will discuss the deciding factors for R&H adoption and the long-term approach to data collection, maintenance, and sharing. A demonstration of the HTML 5 SLD application will highlight the integration with R&H.
