Track: Pipeline and Gas Utilities

Owning and operating 32.000 km pipeline network, GRTgaz is the most important gas transportation system in Europe. ESRI provides it with natural, everyday use IT/IS solutions which benefit ever wider ranges of stakeholders. With GIS modules seamlessly integrated in its IT/IS environment, they are at the core of GRTgaz pipeline master data management. While dedicated applications enable design teams to define the best location and design of future pipes with respect to regulatory, human and environmental constraints, Intranet and mobility modules recently gave more than 2.000 staff members an easy access to pipe locations and technical characteristics, operational data - namely cathodic protection and inspection and incident information -, design documents and environmental features. Lately, corporate webmapping gave biogas producers a view of GRTgaz network injection capacities. These are but the first steps! Pipe environment monitoring reporting and Pipeline Integrity Management System may soon enrich this growing ecosystem.
