With the acceleration of the government's adoption of various mobile technologies, NOAA Coastal Services Center (CSC) partnered with Dewberry to identify important topics and decisions that are part of an appropriate mobile strategy. In addition to Geospatial content and services, CSC provides a variety of publications. This session will provide lessons learned from the undertaking of development of a mobile strategy.
The demands for mobile technology are expanding at a tremendous rate. These trends have been recognized by the U.S. CIO, declaring 2012 "the year of mobile." The National Dialogue on the Federal Mobility Strategy recognized that acceleration of government's adoption of mobile technologies and services will:
. Improve delivery of government information, products, and services.
. Engage citizens more fully and meaningfully with government.
. Reduce the cost of government operations through technology-enabled efficiencies.
. Increase productivity by freeing federal employees and contractors from less effective 20th-century work practices.
