With rapid development of smartphone technologies, we're pushing back the boundaries of online collaboration and in-situ analysis. We developed a smartphone application for geological field survey including the measurement of orientations of geological structures, stereographic instability analysis for each site. These features are enough for small investigations but geologists and engineers need to put these things into perspective over wide areas. We put the ArcGIS into the smartphone software using the ArcGIS Runtime SDK for iOS to combine each site's data geographically and analyze the data using Geoprocessor. The application analyses directivity of each joints and performs instability analysis based on their location plotted on the ArcGIS basemap. Then it converts the instability data of rock faces into spatial data and assesses risk according to the distance from each engineering structures and buildings. These features can help users to perform real-time analysis on the field and to perform efficient investigation.
