The municipality of Staffanstorp, Sweden is a small community of 22000 inhabitants. With
it's location in the middle of the attractive Denmark-Sweden border region, competition of new inhabitants are a
challenge.
An attractive municipality website is one important way of interacting with the public. A
recent successful in-house development of easy-to-use, fast and beautiful embedded
interactive maps have simplified communication dramatically.
With limited resources and staff, creating maps and analysis for the civil servants, and
attractive maps serving the public could be a challenge. We have worked with the ESRI
JavaScript API and a clear strategy when trying to reach our goals.
This is not a technical presentation. Instead, it will present strategies, considerations and
experiences. During the presentation you as an decision maker or GIS strategist will get
advices within product placement, cartography and selling arguments - and why we
stubbornly keep producing our own maps.
