Abstract
Urban Transformation: Population Growth and Infrastructural Stress

The expansion of urban Australia has transformed the 'location' of urban space, but also the population and demographic composition of such spaces.
Most infrastructural stresses are city wide and in reference to themes such as transport, utilities, health care and education. Local permeations of these themes present themselves in unique ways and through the application of ArcGIS 10.1, P.R.I. has identified where population growth and infrastructural stress does, and is, forecast to take place. Outcomes from spatial and network analyses are presented in the form of an impact analysis outlining where stress points will continue or emerge if infrastructural investment is not allocated.
Capturing all data at a local level, P.R.I. has bundled these analytics and presented as an asset management tool; understanding the metrics which shape, structure and connect our cities and what, and where, infrastructural investment is required are critical for planning, decision making and evaluative initiatives.
