An inventory to identify and locate the existing historic sites and gardens in Portugal is crucial to protect the heritage. The landscape heritage spread throughout the country is an area in which geographic information is essential, both for its recording as for its diffusion and use as a touristic product. The identification of this delicate heritage is spread in many publications, scattered lists across different entities, outdated databases, unclear or missing locations and unfriendly access to each element. The use of ArcGIS intends to restructure this dispersion of data by creating an interactive map of results in which access to the locations of landscape heritage in Portugal, allowing easy knowledge of their georeferenced location, search data and images of each element. The usefulness of this project is to create a credible database of cultural heritage for national and international use,as complete and accurate as possible accessible to heritage related entities, academic works and the general public.
