Education can be the most important investment you can make in your own future. however, all too many students fail to successfully achieve their educational goals. Many of the factors that limit Student success in Higher Education can be remediated if the needs of the Student can be identified Early enough. Using GIS, we have been locating and analyzing clusters of poorly performing students and identifying specific drivers for their issues, with the goal of targeting specific policies and resources to best aid them in their Goals.
Using this analysis, we have identified areas with high geographic concentrations of failing students. Joining these areas to Census tracts allows us to compare various socio-economic factors and there impact on student success as compared to the overall student population.
