An ESRI-based GIS reporting and analytical module was developed that provides the Mexico Ministry of Health, Epidemiologists and other health care professionals with an overview of the disease reports managed through various epidemiological information systems. This application is part of a Sharepoint solution which allows the authenticated user to drill-down to the individual cases related to the aggregate reports of the diseases being tracked. This information is displayed and filtered using powerful dashboard controls and direct interaction with the GIS map. Via the geospatial display of information the user would see a map of each of the states and within the states each of the diseases reported would cluster into numeric icons representing number of cases. Next, the user could click on the numeric icon and the system would then aggregate the data to the subsequent jurisdictional level within the state and portray the locations where there have been reports.
