The National Park Service (NPS) Intermountain Region (IMR) Geographic Resources Program (GRP) is looking for ways to increase access to geospatial data in Parks to support planning and management. Web-based technology is advancing and most people have become familiar with on-line mapping sites. GPR is looking to tap into that familiarity and has been developing Park specific mapping viewers using ArcGIS Server and the GeoCortex Silverlight Viewer for Park staff to visualize their geospatial data, including Park boundaries, natural and cultural resources, trails, campgrounds, facilities, etc. This presentation will talk about the how the viewers are being created, maintained, and used in the NPS to create a common operating picture of geospatial data for Park planning, resource management, and compliance activities.
